The classic Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor-II PRO honours the ‘President of Bebop Guitar’ one of the most prolific and groundbreaking guitarists in the history of jazz. The Joe Pass Emperor-II PRO is a true archtop with hand-scalloped bracing. Featuring Epiphone’s critically acclaimed ProBucker humbuckers with coil-splitting, a GraphTech NuBone XL nut, and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
The Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor-II PRO is a true archtop with a Select Spruce top with hand-scalloped bracing and sound post. The back and sides are made from Laminated Flame Maple and the top, back, and fingerboard have stylish Ivory and Black Binding. The bound tortoise style pickguard is shaped to the House of Stathopoulos’s unique profile and is topped off with Epiphone’s signature metal ‘E’.
The hand-set 3-piece laminated Hard Maple neck has a Pau Ferro fingerboard with Pearloid Block inlays, a 24.75″ scale, 20 medium jumbo frets, and an Epiphone 1940s era ‘tree of life’ design on the headstock. The black and white truss rod cover has ‘Joe Pass Emperor-II PRO’ in white. The new GraphTech NuBone XL nut is as hard as bone but will last a lifetime without chipping or edging. GraphTech moulds and engineers each NuBone XL nut for consistent tone and string balance as well as precise string spacing. The Emperor-II PRO is available in a new Vintage Natural finish.
The Emperor-II PRO is strung at the factory with Joe Pass-approved D’Addario 11-46 gauge strings. And setting the intonation for the Emperor-II PRO is easy with a Pau Ferro floating bridge with thumbwheels for quick height adjustment. The Emperor-II PRO has Grover Rotomatic 18:1 ratio machine heads for fast, accurate, and worry-free tuning.
