It has all the original gold fittings that are tarnishing with age

It has had a stainless steel refret that is as good as it gets

Its fitted with custom shop 57-62 pickups

Under the guidance of Dan Smith & Bill Schultz, Fender underwent a radical change in the early 80’s, design & production went back to how it was pre CBS. These were the first Stratocasters, that retained the pre CBS traditional features, such as the 4 bolt neck-construction, small headstock, deeper body contours, removal of the bullet truss rod adjustment back to the vintage style neck end.

Made in the Fullerton factory, these Aztec Gold guitars were a limited run collectors series, with CA prefixed serial numbers, all of the hardware is gold plated with 22 carat gold, they quickly became known as Gold on Gold Strats, but were never marketed as such. Obviously ours was refinished in 2000 to fiesta red-the previous owner found gold a bit to much !!!
