The RG3EX1, also known as the RG3EXQM1, is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2005. It was produced in Indonesia as a spot model which was sold exclusively through the American musical chains Guitar Center & Musician’s Friend.
The RG3EX1 features a quilted maple top with white binding on a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard II neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and sharktooth position markers. Components include a standard hard-tail bridge.
After a three year production run the RG3EX1 was discontinued after 2007. It was essentially replaced by the RG3EXFM1 which is similar but has a flamed maple top and Ibanez Vintage pickups.
