The Sterling by Music Man John Petrucci JP150 MN Neptune Blue is based on the Music Man PDN Limited Edition 2014 JP Signature model and offers almost all features of this exclusive electric guitar at an extremely attractive price. The body is made of African mahogany with a maple top, while the neck is made of roasted maple, a detail not previously found in this price range. In addition, two humbuckers with switchable boosts on the amplifier promise versatile sounds. High-quality hardware in the form of a modern tremolo and locking mechanisms completes the equipment of the SBMM JP150.
Sterling by Music Man JP150: Quilted and Roasted Maple
The Sterling by Music Man JP150 John Petrucci Signature is constructed using high quality ingredients. The strongly contoured body is made of African mahogany with a cloud maple top, whose intense grain is elegantly highlighted by the deep blue Neptune Blue finish. Five screws are also used to fix the Roasted Maple neck, which is easy to play thanks to the quick “D” profile. Due to the thermal treatment of the maple wood in a vacuum, it has enormous stability and is insensitive to climate fluctuations.
Two humbuckers with active boost, high-quality hardware
The electric tone conversion of the Sterling by Music Man JP150 John Petrucci Signature electric guitar is done by two hot-wound humbuckers, whose tight sound skilfully stages both fat riffs and complex solos, and who harmoniously present chords and melodies in the clean channel. The active electronics offer the possibility of boosting the output signal by 12 dB and extra gain and volume reserves from the guitar amplifier. In addition, the electric guitar is equipped with the Sterling Modern Tremolo, which in conjunction with the precise locking mechanisms enables detuning-free Whammy Bar inserts.
